Emma appears on the latest posters for the American Library Association as part of its “READ” campaign in schools and public libraries with a copy of her favourite book, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint have also posed for the campaign with their favourite books.
The ALA said about the participation of the three Harry Potter actors in the READ campaign:
In celebration of the Harry Potter phenomenon readers Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson join the READ campaign.
For more than a decade, J.K. Rowling has captivated imaginations and inspired a generation of new readers with the Harry Potter series. Soon after learning at the age of eleven that he is a wizard, Harry Potter attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Here, he meets his best friends, Ron and Hermione, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, and a cast of eclectic teachers. While Harry, Ron and Hermione navigate the joys and hardships of growing up, their adventures in the wizarding world become darker and more dangerous.
On November 19th, the final instalment in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, comes to the screen in the first of two parts. As the three friends race to find the Horcruxes that are the secret to Lord Voldemort’s power and immortality, the Dark Lord’s Death Eaters wreak havoc on the wizarding world. As the war wages, Harry Potter draws closer to the task for which he has been preparing since he became “the boy who lived”: the ultimate battle with Voldemort.

THE WINNER: Emma Watson
Her Style: From Hermione in Hogwarts robes to the face of Burberry Prorsum, Emma Watson’s rise and rise to style fame has been an interesting one. Granted that the star commits a fair few faux pas in the style department, she is the golden girl in the front row at LFW and has re-ignited our love of the classic trench.

People Tree has launched their new Autumn/Winter collection endorsed by Emma Watson. New on their website is a message from Emma, along with an interview she gave to Safia Minney, founder of People Tree, and a new video. The video, which you can also view below, follows Emma on her trip to Bangladesh. She first visits the 'apalling' slums of Dhaka where the 'fast fashion' garment factory workers live. She then visits the Fair Trade producer group Swallows where the People Tree clothing is made. Finally we see Emma in a photoshoot modeling some of the items in the collection.
The interview and message includes new pictures of Emma on her trip, and modelling some of the clothing. We have a few of those in HQ below. Emma talks about the collection, and contrasts the living conditions of the fast fashion factory workers with that of Fair Trade community. We've included a few quotes below, but there is much more in the full interview.
'Although I wasn't centrally involved in the design of this collection, I had great fun in helping People Tree select some gorgeous Fair Trade textiles -- a dogtooth hand-woven check, cable knits, and the first Fair Trade hand-woven brushed checked fabric which has been made into easy tulip skirts, dresses and shirts. There are even a few party dresses, such as the little black satin tulip dress which can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion'
'Following my summer collection for People Tree I wanted to visit Bangladesh to see the difference Fair Trade makes. The contrast between the slums in Dhaka (the capital of Bangladesh) where the people who work in the garment factories live and Swallows (the Fair Trade community supported by People Tree) was all too apparent. I still find it hard to convey what Fair Trade means to those producing our fashion -- it's just so impressive to see how the women have used Fair Trade clothing to escape poverty and empower themselves and their children. I was moved and inspired.'
'I want to congratulate People Tree on this new range and really hope people continue to buy these clothes and to support their great work in the promotion of Fair Trade.'
